Bellerofonte Castaldi: "Laurina Corrente" (Modena 1622)

The piece sounds on fourth higher as at the "big" a-Theorbo. The fingering is the same. The tablature is only translated to the french system.

d-Theorbo by Renatus Lechner, italian proportions (65/120 cm), plain nylgut strings (without metal), total weight of the instrument 1300 gr, ZOOM H2 audio recorder.
d-Theorbo: Siegfried Andreae

This cute kitten was born in the Cilento region, Italy, not far from the the remote medieval town Laurino....she likes very much to relax with baroque music at low frequencies (theorbo, cello) and tolerates even stumbling practising...

  • In bar 5 you should play the bass note of the d-minor chord too, though this is missing in the orginal source ;-)).
