On Saturday, September 15, 2007, the ANSWER Coalition, a progressive antiwar group, sponsored a Mass March and Die-In in Washington, D.C. Its purpose was to raise the consciousness of enough people in this country to stop the illegal and immoral Iraq War and to prevent the Bush-Cheney Gang from launching a war against Iran. The rally took place in Lafayette Park, just north of the White House, where a number of prominent speakers were heard. One of the speakers was the Rev. Lennox Yearwood, CEO of the Hip Hop Caucus. He said: "War is obsolete...Power to the people." Rev. Yearwood was viciously attacked by Capitol Hill police on Sept. 10, 2007, without just cause. He is was seriously injured in the incident. For additional details, and updates, on the Sept. 15th rally, and for the exact number of arrests, please see: www.ANSWERCoalition.org. A fuller video version, (one hour, 3 minutes), of the rally can be found here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1697306426184071314.

  • That was the strongest speech today

  • He was one of the best speakers there, along with the woman heading the CAN contingent, and of course Cindy Sheehan and the rest. Lets end this war. IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL!!!

  • war eill never be obsolete so long as someone can make a profit from it. personally i believe in the words of Thomas Jefferson, "you have only the liberites you are will to fight and die to defend."

  • Well how much change is needed I do beleive the system needs to be more streamlined mainly adding the ability to veto a supreme court decision with a senate majority regardless this system is still better then any dictatorship or any other form of government

  • i dont call myself a liberal. im a revolutionary. liberal means u still believe in the system, and u want it to change. revolutionary means u know it will never change and u want to change the system.

  • what he said represented his political views and if it didnt why did he protest the war and people like him deserve to be discredited and if you call your self a liberal you would disagree with him too

  • hahaha, IT WILL BE UPLOADED

  • wow. all u did was discredit him because of his political standings instead of what he said. so in the spirit of making retarted comments... ur a dick

  • Just another out spoken left extremist i hope most people can see him for what he really is a shock talking left wing liberal hack its people like him that really put a black mark on that side of the aile and its sad to know that he thinks he deserves to be in the same party as FDR

  • AP, 9/17/07: "Iran is not a suicide nation...we have the power to deter Iran, should it become nuclear. There are ways to live with a nuclear Iran ...they'll never be able to compete with us in our true military might and power. War, in the state-to-state sense, in that part of the region would be devastating for everybody, and we should avoid it..." -- Gen. John Abizaid, recently retired commander of U.S. forces in the Middle East

  • Power to the People!!!!!!
