Antarctic Flight; Qantas QFA2902

This flight was flown online Vatsim using Flight Simulator X and PMDG's 747-400X. Some video was played back with AI and the "Air New Zealand Flight 901" tribute section was recorded in FS2004 (FS9.1)

Every year on New Years Eve, a Qantas 747 departs Melbourne with a flight number that doesn't exist any other day of the year. This flight has a flightplan to takeoff from Melbourne airport - to return back to Melbourne 12 hours later without having touched the ground in between. It's destination is 11,000 feet over Antarctica.

This flight was replicated with a Qantas flightplan from the 2007/2008 season.

The music was great too, although my personal preference would have been something from Holst's The Planets - one of the outer ones, I think. Past Jupiter.

@deino117 antarcticaflights is their official website. there's an 'au' after the com. I decided on this music because it is "Symphonia Antarctica". Neptune would be a bit too quiet IMO for most of this, because you are afterall in a 747, and theyre not exactly quiet :P

Most of it was FSX. Beginning and Ending most of the stuff over ice. Only a small section in "Part III Erebus" was in FS9. Melbourne was the FTX/Orbx YMML payware addon for FSX, PMDG 747 in both FSX and FS9. the DC10 was FS9 only.
