MomoButoh first collaborative project to honor UN World Oceans Day. Maureen "momo" Freehill continues attempts to clean up the Langley beach yet finds little trash; yet many fascinating seaside encounters. Here she exchanges butoh with a murder of crows, a couple of seagulls, the empty beach houses, a deeply buried plastic bag, some curious children, a supposedly injured sea lion, the marina dock and garbage cans....finally she returns to ride bicycle a few miles uphill. At the end of the journey, gratefully drinks in the liquid blessings of Mama Ocean in another form. Music: Christen Lien viola... http://itsnotaviolin.com
Thank you for this powerful dance and reflection of a common theme. Very much appreciated the ecological message, the ugliness of human discards defacing the beauty of land and sea. And how we can all in some part do something about it.
I love water too!
