A white GTI-R with new turbo setup from the Turbine Tech staff. Sidewinder-style manifold with hand-made 3" SS mandrel bent exhaust and water intercooler. With properly sized turbo and a good tune, those AWD gremlins are a blast to ride in the snow and on the track.

  • looks like a horrible place for an intake

  • @DVcustomZ Not if there's a hood scoop just above it.

  • @turbinetechca your right, does it have one?

  • @DVcustomZ Yes, try googling pulsar GTIR for a few pics.

  • nice setup, this this ever get a road run? dyno? 1/4 mile?

  • @bunnyn14 We finally got the car back last week. Pulled out 278AWHP @ 15 psi.

  • Interesting manifold setup, there's a gtir around here that has the turbo on top of the gearbox pretty much, the down pipe and exhaust go through the firewall, alongside the tunnel and is all boxed in (car is RHD). Very fast car.

  • @hyowatha The scoop is there for the intercooler from the factory not the intake. That position receives allot of direct/indirect heat that you do not want.

  • @DVcustomZ They all have a factory scoop in that spot

  • @eXtremist87 the turbo is going to heat it up anyway before it hits the cooler and i bet he hasnt had a problem with it

  • respect to ya mate.. im also 15 i got 2 r5 gt turbos.. i know quite alot about turbo engines and turbos too..

  • @mojavedude250 lmao am 15 and even i know turbos work better when they cold

  • @turbinetechca While the car is moving, its an OK air intake setup, but at a standstill, its a very bad place for an intake, there would be so much heat rising from the engine going into that air filter, so if you were to rev to 6,000rpm and then dump the clutch (putting load on the engine) you'll notice that your car will detonate pretty badly, reconsider your air filter setup.

  • @mojavedude250 turbo's go better when they are cold idiot

  • lol i see a coolant flush

  • thats some incredible work but what is the advantage of the Sidewinder-style manifold? i thought turbos feed better off hot expanding gasses closest to the cylinder.
