You Don't have to use the sand if you don't want to. I really don't know why I do besides it adds a little texture and thickness to the jelly, but if you don't want to use it or can't find any sand then don't worry about it.
How to add realistic scratches, paint chips, scuffs, and more to your Halo armor.
This is a two part tutorial and this is part 1.

  • all of the hardware stores in my town don't have Bondo putty and fiberglass resin.. can you suggest anything else that I can use?? do you think starch would work well??

  • @dreadmaster28 Sorry but I don't know of any substitutes. And I don't think starch would work well but I've never tried it so I don't know. Have you searched the internet for a substitute? There might be something out there.

  • @xXBocephusXx I searched the net.. all I found is by melting atleast 30 sticks of hot glue and brushing it all over the internal part of the piece. it works by I can't get the perfect round-shaped helmet..

  • @dreadmaster28 Well, I'm sorry but I don't know what to tell you.

  • so how do I make a visor?? and out of what material exactly??

  • @dreadmaster28 I show one way to make a visor in my video called 'How to finish a raw cast' It's in Part 4 I believe.

  • @1mpulseS0D I don't either. I read somewhere that it helps so I put it in the tutorial but I don't even do it anymore.

  • I don't really get why you put sand in the Vaseline?

  • for paint flakes, i hear that a light mist of spray adhesive and rock salt sprinkled on the areas work great as well.

  • @darthjero12 The silver isn't the primer. The primer was the black paint. I only added the silver so I could make it show through the final coat of colored paint so it looked battle damaged.
