It's very frustrating...the fact that the majority of the populace never even takes the time to think of an intelligent life's existence other than our own...let alone concepts like extra dimensional existence (see the "11 dimensions"). We very well could be as aware of another intelligent species as a common earthworm is of us.

because science is REAL specific about defining the conditions...life is stated as being CARBON based, so there could be aliens that are made of other elements that are so highly organized they "resemble" life but there not life.

I did research on the roswell incident, those weren't aliens, instead they were diseased kids with progeria whom were used in experiments as pilots to create super air crafts based on the models designed by nazi scientists who were adopted by US after the ww2. The truth is that the cover up was the aliens and the truth is that the kids were used, when it came out in the paper as aliens, the govmt left it alone because it didn't accuse them of abusing diseased kids.
