Oh! You went to Shimokita Peninsula of Northan Aomori!
It is very good area to enjoy the localism, hot springs, landscape and wildlife... I've never been to there but someday I'll visit. Because, in Oma, there is a home harbor for fishing boats to catch tuna. Oma's tuna is the best in the world.
Thank you for this video and early reply.

Your video shows the odd thing about Japan I have noticed from YouTube clips.
At times you see a table with only one or two items on it. This is the image Japan thats well known from movies. Clean lines, little mess, few "things".
Then you see a japanese dinner party with about 40 different bowls and cups that so fill the dinner table you could not slide a dime on edge onto it.

The local harbor at the latter half of this video, it is very good atmosphere of Japanese local fishery harbor. The ryokan you stayed must serve very fine foods from it. The dialect someone spoke in this video seems TOUHOKU(northan Japan between Hukushima prefecture to Aomori prefecture) region's one. What town or village did you visit ?

Hi Tristan,
Thanks for your message.
You are right, the dialect they speak is from the northern region Aomori. We spent teh night there in a ryokan at the north coast (near Oma).
We drove trough all of Aomori in a period of 2 days.
It's a very beautiful area.
