whats the differences between a hair dryer and a heat gun?... btw this is great!!!! I love this idea
-
Using a hairdryer for embossing is not wise as it actually BLOWS hot air and will blow the embossing powder off your project.
-
can you use a photograph instead?

As a candle lover I thought I had seen it all. This is such a great idea! I can't wait to give it a try!

@amca2005 yes you can use a hairdryer just make sure that it is on the hot setting. it is cheaper and works for embossing too.

Instead of a heat gun can you use a hairdryer instead?

I have made a few candles this way, 2 for weddings and a few for birthdays, it is so easy to do. One thing I learnt from doing this ! I didn't realise tissue paper had a smooth side and a slightly rough side :-)
I couldn't find wax paper anywhere so I use baking paper instead. The type that you would line a baking tin with for making biscuits etc works great.
Is it possible to draw an image on a tissue paper, will it trasfer?

Yes, you should be able to transfer an image drawn onto tissue paper. You may have to experiment to see which type of markers work best on tissue paper. My guess is that some may bleed.

So, a tissue paper can be printed without any problem. I thought the printer would tear the tissue paper, wouldn't it?

Yes, you can print on tissue paper with an ink jet printer. But results depend on the printer and the type/weight of the tissue paper you are using. With some experimenting you should be able to determine what works best with your printer.

Yes, you can print a picture on tissue paper and transfer it to a candle. Works great. I have also heard you can print a photo and transfer it. Although with a photo, you may have to use a heavier weight paper.

Question: Can the candles be burned after you've stamped on them? I know they are beautiful but some people might want to actually use them.

I have never had a problem burning them. But, like with any candles, you don't want to leave them unattended.
