When using a normal lid without a tube mechanism and cup what happens is your liquid either expands too much, spills over, and recedes (as the gases escape) exposing and spoiling the contents or the liquid is too low to begin with and it never covers the vegetables in the first place also spoiling them. There is no perfect way to compensate for this expansion except with the perfect pickler lid which allows liquids to expand and even escape without allowing air to get into the jar.
what a waste. just use a mason jar or a plastic food grade container. No need for the airlock just loosely cover container with lid! Total gimmick! Ur a sucker if you pay for this!
Geez. This is just a commercial. I was hoping they would at least do a quick demo or show how to assemble the thing. Waste of my time to watch it.

$24-$26....did you catch that? Don't be a chump, folks. You can buy a dozen quality pint sized mason jars with rings and lids for $10 where I live.
