@aknowles19 it's about the various revolutions that happened in china during 19/20 the century, by showing it in a very artistic way of the transformation of traditional Chinese art. i think this film was/is banned in mainland china (the part of china that is still ruled by chinese communism party). this is one of the most meaningful and probably one of the best films that was ever released in this catalogue. you must watch this film, it REALLY IS ONE OF THE BEST.

ich finde den film grandios. ja krank mag er vielleicht sein... für jemanden der ihre kultur nicht kennt oder verstehen kann. aber die story ist sehr melancholisch, traurig und herzzerreissend. die story geht unter die haut. was würdest du machen? die hatten keine wahl - entweder strasse oder diese grausame ausbildung, in der hoffnung gross und berühmt zu werden. Ich musste weinen... der film hat mich sehr berührt.
