This is one of 4 feature clips of the 2006 Tattoo from Norfolk Virginia. This particular formation is most difficult because of the number of Pipes and Drums entering and leaving the floor in addition to all the Highland Dancers.

  • Well my hats off to those who posted this! I'm the first dancer I believe to respond, but this year was one of my favorites and I have been in the tattoo since 2001! 2008 wasn't as grand, but thanks to all the pipers and drummers who make the music so we can dance!

  • I am with the 3 ASG Pipes and Drums and yes you are the first dancer to respond. This was I believe our 2nd year there. My son and daughter were also with us on that trip and they have both become friends with a few of the dancer's, Megan Burgess in particular. My daughter Kat is a piper in our band and her twin brother was a drummer. I have a few more clips posted here from that year, check them out.

  • where did you pick it from ?

  • Not sure what you mean! The formation was chosen by Gene Heather, the Drum Major for the Pipes and Drums and because of the number of musicians for this set we needed something not to difficult to form and still have room for all musicians and dancers. If you mean where did I get this video from, I created it from a video shot by one of our military members in the stands.

  • I should also mention this formation worked out well as of the 168 Pipers and Drummers on the floor for this set about 60 were from Scots College in Australia.

  • Jonny514, we too will be there again from 3 ASG Pipes and Drums. My son and daughter were there as well in 06 and the are twins with the same last name as a pair of Aussie twins who play Rugby I believe it is. I have a DVD I made of the Tattoo that year that I wanted to send to the school, no address. Their drummers learned our drum salute as well. E-mail me at this address.
