My New Horse!!

so after about 8 years of whining, complaining, and begging, i now have a horse :)
didnt have much time to decide, there were a lot of people who were coming out to see her later that week, so i rode her once and decided to get her the same daay! her name is fig (my sister helped me pick it). she was thrown out in a field for about a year, and was purchased by the lady who sold her to me. the dealer who sold her to the woman told her she was 5, but she has a tattoo on her lip from racing, and apparently the letter corresponds with the age? idk, but shes around 3-4. shes had two weeks of off/on training to be a normal riding pony, and like a day of jumping training --haha the day i tried her! she didnt even try to run out/refuse. not saying shes a natural born jumper, as she was awkward, but she very willing :). shes a lil bit tummy shy and kicks when you touch her stomach, and wont let you pick up her back feet yet

got her on the 26 of july, 2010!

anddd excuse the fact that i ride like a retarded gazelle. also how i look like an obese hunchback in my waaay baggy shirt. it's bagginess does not compliment my manly shoulders :L tehehee. also i know that when we go through the jumps/ground pole set up im way hunched over- that's what my trainer wants me to do, he wants me out of the saddle in a kind of half seat position :P

the woman who sold her to us said that she was "tickilish" and thats why she would kick out, and never mentioned that she would deliberately try to hurt someone. i was stupid in buying this horse. i used to regret it very much, but now that it's almost been a year i'm happy with my decision. i let my trainer talk me into getting her, and i should have paid much more attention to her habits on the ground when i went to see her! :)

@livin4horsez Actually, half seat and two point are two different possitions. two point is the jumping position that you are in only over the jump. half seat is the possition that one rides in while cantering to maintain a light seat. it is mainly used in the few strides before a fence so that the rider is prepared to go into two point. i enjoy cantering in half seat all the time, it really builds up leg muscle and gives me a really gracfull and controlled seat.

You're so lucky. My moms been saying for 3 months that I can get a horse. But every time I see one and want to go look at it she freaks out and says "not right now". -__-
