Life in Tokyo Vlog #21: Delicious Damnation

So, I am going to hell, but at least it was delicious. Im not interested in a debate about the morality of eating different creatures so don't expect a response. That said, I dont understand why people who eat some animals feel so passionately about not eating other ones as long as it is done in a sustainable manner. Dolphins are cute but if you eat beef you should really shut the hell up. Vegans however may feel free to criticise me. In the words of a man much wiser than me, George Carlin... "Dolphin safe tuna is great if you are a dolphin, but it sucks if you are a Tuna."




Also, this is partly a response to the large number of spam comments I see on other videos about "dolphin massacre in japan." So you know, whale and dolphin are extremely rare on menus. The wide majority of japanese havent and wont eat whale or dolphin. And my other peeve about spamming on a political topic is that there are far more worthy things to be worrying about. So if people aren't spamming about crisis like Sudan, AIDS, nuclear weapons and fossil fuel emissions then I dont think you should be spamming the most viewed video list about sealife.

Just my opinion.

Once on vacation I met a really fat chick. She was a whale. I was really drunk and I ate her out. I am not proud to admit that while drunk I ate a whale in the Ramada Inn :-/

if you're going to hell for eating whale then i'm going to hell for being a canadian and knowing that my people annually go up north and beat baby seals to death with clubs, and not doing anything. Bystanders are not innocent. I dont know why they do it, and honestly dont know anyone who does personally, but they do. so dont worry. eating whale is NOTHING in comparison.

Meh, people are allowed to eat whale around the world, some groups of people actually survive on it. My issue with people eating whale meat purely for the novelty is that whale meat has redonkulous levels of mercury. Whale meat in Japanese stores in particular tend to have higher than average levels since the industry isn't highly regulated.

That being said, I would just like to say that amongst all the new meats/fish I ate in Japan.......... BAZASHI WAS THE MOST FRICKING DELICIOUS!

ahhh dont feel to bad. Just think of it as only a VERY small bit of a whale that the whale still survived and is swimming happily :) Maybe....probably not but hey at least it was good :)

I have to agree with you that ppl who eat any meat don't really have the right to complain about people eating whale...also tht whale meat looks damn good. *stuffs face with ramen and whale meat*
