The two faces of Sharon - The Young and the Restless

I had this following of Eddie Cibrian when he first joined Young and Restless when Matt Clark was a minor character at the time and when Sharon Collins was played by 3 different actresses in the course of one season (summer of 94) and the character was new at the time and it was hard to find out what kind of character was she gonna be. Monica Potter played the first Sharon who reminded me of a future Grace. Heidi Mark played the second Sharon which she reminded me of a young Melanie Griffith. And the present who has been playing the role since 9/6/04 is Sharon Case. When Sharon (the character...not the actress) joined the canvas the viewers didn't know what kind of character was she. Was she gonna be a future Jill Foster Abbott? It was very confusing. This clip shows the scene with Heidi Mark playing the role of Sharon and I used this one as of Case debut episode and her work with Matt as you could see that Matt is in a scene with Sharon. I must say Sharon Case is very pretty today but in this episode she wasn't looking that great next to Heidi Mark (her predecessor)

It's good they recast the Sharon Newman character, I'm sorry, but Heidi Mark cannot act! She just did not have no type of emotion with the character, non what so ever. For a moment, a couple of years later on Y&R, I thought Heidi Mark was cast as another character (Trisha Dennison) on the show, but it was another actress that looked like her. Now, the actress that played (forgot her name) Trisha Dennison, could act her ass off!!!

the actress that played Tricia Dennison McNeil was played by Sabryn Genet, who also played a minor role on the show who went to GCU, when Matt was trying to get info on Sharon and asked her character, who's name was Kelly and she flatly told Matt stop asking questions bout Sharon and ask bout her and went on a date w/Matt later on and didn't want to be bothered and ala Tricia which Sabryn worked w/all 3 actors that played Matt!

Rumor has it that Heidi Mark was in nude magazines and dated O.J. Simpson before the height of his infamous trial. That is way behind Heidi with the rumors. I take it the show went out of their way to get an innocent girl to play the role (Sharon Case) with experience.

Heidi's Mark's "Sharon Collins," based on that clip alone, was a bombshell from the wrong side of the tracks. Beyond her looks though, she doesn't come across as sincere or sympathetic. This "Sharon" is more believable as a gold digger.

Y&R made a wise decision to recast the role with Sharon Case. Case can act her face off, but her "Sharon" was a lot more wholesome/girl-next-door and had class. Along with beauty.

There were actually three Sharons on Y&R. Heidi Mark was the 2nd. Monica Potter (now on Parenthood) was the first Sharon. Does anyone has a clip of Monica on Y&R? That would be great!

This is such awesome acting from Eddie Cibrian..the way he turns his head and opens his mouth ever so slightly(:029), and that look with his mouth open at :038..he's definitely Oscar bound with his acting abilities!

I think what collectionfvideos was pointing out is that actress Sabryn Genet who played Tricia McNeil on Y&R, played another character on the show before (not as Tricia), back in the mid 90's which was a minor one. I think she played an unkown college student, when Matt Clarke was looking for information on Sharon and her ex-boyfriend Frank. This was during the Nick, Amy, Sharon, Matt rape/shooting storyline.

From what I recalled, Heidi Mark originated the role in the summer of 1994. She was only on Y&R for several episodes. That same year, she was recast by Sharon Case who currently has played the character since then.

When Shick reunites and remarries, it won't be long before the break their vows with their lies, cheating, accusations and revenge sex. Just you wait.

Now, if only they could have Phyllis move the hell on instead of putting her in another damn triangle with Jack and Diane! God, I hate MAB!
