@carltoncruise It is true, it seems, that for most people, the richer they are the further they are removed from the realities of life. But why punish and scorn someone that is doing the right thing, fighting, even risking her own life, for what you claim are the sins of her family that she's not responsible for? It's even more laudable that Ethar has developed a conscience the way she has. Most people couldn't possibly doubt her sincerity. Her service to her country is unquestionable.

Man, this girl is gorgeous

@carltoncruise I personally know 2 El-Katatney's and they might be rich but they are good people. I go to school with two of the boys and I can vouch that they don't profit from Mubarak's regime and in fact they don't support him. Get your facts straight motherfucker.

Well said Ethar . Keep speaking . No matter what .

Very well spoken, Ethar. Keep us updated!
Ethar is from a filthy rich family which has benefitted no end from Mubarak's evil regime. She was raised and educated in Saudi Arabia and American universities. She is as isolated from the protesters as any of the kleptocrats desperately clinging to power in the Middle East.

@carltoncruise Ouch. I'm leaving your comment because I believe in freedom of expression, but to clarify: There's absolutely no shame from coming from a family that elhamdulela is well off. The shame is in disconnecting yourself from your fellow country men and not wanting to change anything. I chose a career field--journalism--that would keep me close to the people who most need our help, and I choose to write only on the issues that affect them.
