Gwangju boasts the nation's largest cluster of photonics industry and manufactures/exports automobile, digital appliances and semiconductor products (to the US and all over the world), which make it the third largest exporting city in S. Korea after Ulsan and Inchon. The city is also home to companies like Kia, Samsung, Kumho and ATI(Amkor Technology Inc.).
