Glowworm Micron 50FF Boiler Fault

Our Glowworm Micron 50FF has developed a fault. Once up to temperature it seems to have difficulty in shutting off. It keeps trying to restart. Engineer believes it to be the pressure switch. This is being replaced and my next video will show the result.

i have worked for gloworm this boiler had a fault with the pcb we replaced lotts of them, the manufacturers will never admit it was a manufacturing fault ?

@mark52450 Thanks Mark. The installer who looked at it a couple of year ago told me that but I didn't get very far trying to claim for a FOC change. I paid out for a few years ago for one and as you see just had another. It seems like its a consumable! but funny how no one tells you when they sell it to you! Pity really since in many respects it does a decent job.

Pressure switch was changed first. General method is to start with the cheapest fix! Did not fix so the PCB was changed and had the desired result. Does seem the fan bearings are a bit worn as it still starts up with some noise that quietens down. British Gas did a deal. I took their annual maintenance plan (£20pm which covers the whole system) they did a fixed price repair for £90. As a PCB and thermistor could have cost over £200 - and may not have been the problem, seemed the best option.

self reseting boiler. could be sludge in the system, pump running too slow, incorect system pressure if on a sealed system thermistor or pcb. unlikely to be the air pressure switch as this makes when the boiler first goes through its ignition sequence but is possible i spose
