Being a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse is one of the most rewarding jobs in the world. It can be challenging, difficult and sad at times but the end result can be so worth it. Even if the outcome is not as everyone wanted or hoped for, We try our best to give what is needed. The statistics are from The March of Dimes organization. The song is I'm Alive by Celine Dion.

  • God bless you!!!!! my baby brother was in the NICU for 4 weeks and they say he will have some problems in the futrue because he broke his clavicles when he was born. Now he is 2 years old and he is runing and healthy baby!

  • Every job has it's tough times but I would like to know how you think you know so much. I know several nicu nurses and they are compassionate and well respected. I'm sure at times families get frustrated...that's well understood their babys life is in your hands..and as far as pay goes...that's incorrect.

  • @jules5473 you have to act like a maid for ignorant, violent parents, grandparents, cousins, everyone can come in and if they just dont like you or you remind them of someone, they can scream at you, curse you ,threaten you, and the hospital does not care , cause everything is blamed on the Nurse !!!Your best is never good enough if some drug addicted rude, unreasonable parent complains. You did not kiss ass enough. You work with minimal staff, get no break, stay late to finish charting without pay,

  • Is there any way i can get the words to whats popping up as the video is playing?

  • I'm proud to serve as a Nicu Nurse..

  • Thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the River end NICU in Springfield Oregon who helped our daughter and my wife and I through such a difficult time.

  • boorn 9 weeks early.... dooing just fine thanks to the nicu nurses!

  • Beautiful video! I'm going into neonatal nursing myself and it shows how helpful the nurses are :)

  • Amazing Video. Very Informative and Inspiring!

  • I was a preemie. I was born at 23 weeks on March 4th of 1995.

I am 16 years old now and attend PCHS highschool.

the only complication I have is hearing loss either due to having a drug addict and an alcoholic birth mother or whether it's simply because i was a preemie.

I owe it all to the NICU nurses AND doctors AND to my adopted mom.
