@finalprohphet Will that be before or after you learn to spell your username correctly?

Fuck you christian cunt, I' m taqwacore, and me and my brothers will find you and beat your white chap ass.

I would like this band better if they didn't claim to be 'Taqwacore' i.e. 'Muslim punks'. You can't claim to reject establishment & break free from authority when you follow the Qu'ran.
These guys aren't punk. These people are doing exactly what different sects of Christianity, etc did to take what they wanted from their scripture & manipulating it to their fitting.
Fuck religion, fuck your pretences, fuck you. That is punk.
Though they're appreciated because they're fresh young & ~*Islamic

@squigglesy Shouldnt you be hugging some trees?

@WonkyDoodle The Sex Pistols weren't great musicians either. Punk is about attitude and being controversial, not virtuosic playing... I don't think they're being celebrated because they're Muslim, they're getting attention because they're doing something musically new, i.e. mixing south asian music and punk, and lyrically new, i.e. satirising Islam.

lol most of you assholes commenting dont even understand the point of punk music, its to be provocative, to make you think about issues you would typically just ignore. that's why they sensationalize and satarize these things. and especially in these times there needs to be a muslim punk scene, like fuck, they're probably the most scrutinized population in the media at the moment.

So they should be celebrated simply because they're supposedly muslim? I think not. They should be celebrated based on the quality of their music, which I can report, sounds like absolute shit. You can label it Muslim shit, Jewish shit, Hindu shit, but its still shit!

To those questioning the musicality of the group, I'd recommend listening to some of their studio recordings. A lot of them are available on youtube. The quality of the live recordings on this news piece is really poor.
