(www.thegodtheory.com) Sequel to THE GOD THEORY. Video discusses why it is possible to believe in both science and God, a God that is compatible with the Big Bang and evolution. Is there a plausible purpose behind the Universe consistent with modern astrophysics?
@ndrthrdr1 He believed in Spinozas god.

@GrandmasterBBC Ofcourse I'll expand, but not in this chat, because it's personal.

@BJ151 Actually, I think mental psychosis is more common than you claim. Do you care to expand on this "miracle" that you experienced? I am willing to bet that only you witnessed this event. Call me a skeptic, but I am one of those nut jobs who requires proof of such claims.

@GrandmasterBBC Many people have experienced miracles or things that happened, but had a veery low chance of happening. When something like that happened to me, I couldn't not believe.

the universe millions of tiny and big machines. operator needed for machine to function properly. operator being a function in the machine relieving previous operator from designating purpose. function designating subroutines, all having the ability to function as operator. randomness, irregularities in the energies of operators ability to function properly trough replication competing with other operators in a network. insufficient dependencies become natural behavior.

I like most of what he's saying here. It's a fine distinction that we may be on opposite sides of, Haisch and I. I don't believe in intelligent design, but rather that consciousness itself is what gives rise to all matter and what drives evolution and the origins of life itself, perhaps even the big bang. Consciousness is an energy field that goes all the way down to the plank scale, the strings.

I like the idea that consciousness itself is the basis of the physical universe. That notion is supported by quantum physics. And I like the idea of spirituality with science and without religious dogmas. Life is the universe looking at itself. That is the purpose, life for it's own sake. It's pantheism after a kind. it's a middle ground where all but the fundamental dogmatists can stand.

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." From a letter Einstein wrote 24 March 1954.included in Albert Einstein: The Human Side, Princeton University Press.
