Depression in MS is a serious subject and I try my hardest to keep my jokes to a minimum. If you have experienced depression then please, see someone that can help you.

If you are having suicidal thoughts, you can phone the Samaritans on 08457 909090 or you can get hold of NHS Direct at 0845 4647, be warned though, there is a bit of a wait with them. Thery're obviously, both completly confidential, and with the samaritans anonymous too.

  • Hi Im a newbie to ur channel... Im undiagnosed. can i ask what if any antidepression drug your on? do you like it?

  • @sleekcartim I'm not on any anti depressants, I had a chat with my doctor and he suggested I wait a month as I'm a genrally level headed, rational guy. I've been told by one of my friends that they take around a month for the effects to kick in.

  • Hey there Gav!

I centainly don't want to be a grumpy old fucker. LOL!! This is why having MS friends here on Youtube is so important. When one of us falls on LOW times, someone is always here to lift us up. Keep your humor my friend. NEVER STOP LAUGHING!!!

    Peace & Love, Mindy

  • @heythereitsmindy I think if I was always laughing they'd cart me off to the lunatic asuylum lol ;-)

  • Hi Gav,

I have had my own bouts with depression. Yes I have thought that ending it all would be the best thing, there were times when my husband was afraid to come home for fear of what he would find. Those were on my worst days and mostly due to certian meds that didn't agree with me. If the side effect is mood changes I get them. I am not normally a depressed person and now I know the signs, so I get off that med asap. Great topic, thanks! Andrea

  • @thehappycovv Hi Gav...yes in a way it is a bit star trekky, although there won't be any need for currency exchanges like gold-pressed latinum Lol. It uses the scientific method to make the best decisions and doesn't have any politicians or 'opinions' running society. All the real problems are technical and we have all the technology and the resources we need to solve them..The monetary system monopoly game is preventing us from having an amazing future.

  • @peterjol the sci fi geek in me is imagining a star trek style system

  • @jrmcg1 It's a 'sustainable' system that doesn't use any form of money, barter or trade, called a Resource Based Economy. I almost completely dismissed it as just being a crazy fantasy until I really looked into it. I can understand now how this could very easily be a world without any war, crime and starvation and it wouldn't even be hard to make it into a reality, if only people can manage to think completely outside the box of a monetary system and 'get it'.

  • @peterjol what's RBE?

  • I am almost 60 and have always thought this world is a very depressing place anyway, with it's never ending wars, starvation, greed, crime and stupidity constantly in the news. Now I am diagnosed with PPMS it certainly doesn't help. I sure wish I could have a painless pill to take for when I decide I have had enough. The only thing that is keeping me interested in being around now is the fast growing Zeitgeist movement. If people do manage to 'get' the RBE idea this could be a much better world.
