  • @iyot34 I was never beaten and I'm not a spoiled brat. My children were never beaten and they aren't spoiled brats. My nieces and nephews were never beaten and they aren't spoiled brats.

If you beat children, all you tell them is that violence is okay. And you teach them to do bad things when nobody's looking. They get more creative in finding ways to hide bad behaviour. Those children make better criminals then those who are allowed to make mistakes and are punished in humane ways.

  • @mikeblondie888 I question how well-adjusted you really are. That you believe that it was right for your father to assault you means that you accept violence. That, in my mind, does not constitute being well-adjusted.

I know numerous very well-adjusted children and teenagers who are not beaten by their parents.

  • I don't agree with corporal punishment at school, but I do agree with spanking, within reason. A swat or two followed by a good hug and an "I love you" never injured anybody when they were little.

  • Discipline is TO TEACH AND TRAIN, NOT TO INJURE OR HURT. I GET SO MAD WHEN A DISCIPLINARIAN USES ALL THEIR MIGHT AND STRENGTH WHEN DISCIPLINING A CHILD. THERE IS A FINE LINE BETWEEN DISCIPLINE AND A BEATING, AND THERE'S SOME FOLKS WHO ARE TOO STUPID TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. THE STUPID ONES NEED A REALITY CHECK......

  • @Kyleswoman1985 They are designes to degrade a child. This will hurt their selfesteem, which is almost as bad as hurting them physically. One can better allow kids to make mistakes without the threat of being spanked. That will make kids stronger, not a humiliating experience like a spanking.

  • One thing I remenber why kids acted up in class was they were disinterested and board, inspire and excite a kid about something and they'll follow you too hell and back! Hect it workd for adults as well!

  • One sad thing as well is it ofton escalates out of proportion (ok American's are exberts at that!) and goes from 'one on the butt' too all over the body, one can easerly loose themselfs in violence that they no longer see what they're doing. It's a gray area in the end.

  • @mamavanR Yeah, I was never beaten (anything over a spank in the basic sense with hand slap on butt) and came out well, my main problems are a socity that didn't accept me as guy who sticks out (different story).

Ofton kids act up from a over complex enviroment where too much is expected from them at a young age.

  • @Kyleswoman1985 And only if ever used now and then, I'd try a more intellgent way, most kids are smarter then we think and we shouldn't expect so much from a really young child so I don't see the point in expecting then too get complex expectations, in other words "don't put them in a complex enviroment!" where they may be unable too self-disapline themselfs. I was only spanked (excuse the pun) a handful of times.

  • @Kyleswoman1985 good point

  • Spankings are not designed to physically hurt. They are designed to hurt a kids pride, so much so that they dont do whatever it was that got them a spanking. I know there's going to be many who disagree with me on that. I do realize too that they can get out of hand very quickly, which is why paddling needs to be outlawed. A big thing of wood should never touch a child.

  • @fish1648 Research in this matter tells me otherwise. Most criminals have a history of spanking. If you get me proven evidence that children become better persons by recieving a swat to the butt, we'll talk...
