Hi there everyone. Unsolved Mysteries aired a show about Bobby and Christi Baskin back in 1989. Amazingly, the show had a "repeat", someone recognized the kids, called the cops, and now they are found. So, about 6 years after his death, Robert Stack is still solving mysteries! The grandparents abducted the children because they thought their daughter and son-in-law were involved in Satanic Ritual Abuse (which was found to be bogus, there was this whole hullabaloo about it). The parents live in Georgia now, and finally have some closure.

All this, coupled with everything I've learned about Scientology and cults, makes me wonder.. should religion come with a warning sticker? "Use with extreme caution"?

  • I watched it as a small child. I loved Unsolved Mysteries as a child. I miss him. He was such a great guy. I can do an impression of him quite well. It was a great show.

  • @RealTime88 thanks for sharing. I remember watching it as a kid too. I'd try to scare the crap out of my mom sometimes during the opening credits. Even when it was fail it was funny.

  • did they say y the kids

    didnt contact the rents?

    theyr adults now right?

    were they like brainwashed

    against their rents?

  • they took the kids because the grandparents had an irrational fear their children were being abused in a satanic cult. This was 1988, when the whole "ritualistic abuse" thing started. The kids are adults now, both successful and living in Cali. The parents thought the kids had been brainwashed by their grandparents, mostly the grandfather. Kinda like Stockholm Syndrome I guess.

  • fact: Tennessee is a backwater, screwed up state that should be replaced with the National Toxic Waste Dump. Seriously messed up state, nothing there worth visiting.
