Star Soldier R 5-Minute Mode: 2,696,100

My 5-Minute Mode personal best. This was made on 5th June 2008 - at that time I was 39th in the World (and 1st outside Japan).

I sucked at Level 1 (I usually get at least 20k more), but Level 2 was pretty amazing - the only time I got a 1300 combo (= big bonus).

(Hope this will help you North American guys win the SSR tournament. Lucky for you, I'm from Europe.)

Oh, and how did you inititate a Replay? I'd love to know for when I video my runs in SSR.

The game always shows replay of your last run if you leave it alone (alternates replay and intro). But you can't save it and is lost forever once you quit the game or start a new one. That's why I recorded this (using some old analog camera).

Have you noticed that I never switch speed (not even inside the ring)? I've crashed a lot of times because of that, but I always played that way, it was simply more fun.

Near the end, what did you get that 100,000 bonus for?! :o

That's the only bonus I'm not familiar with.

You probably know that the next wave of enemies starts in the exact moment you destroy the current one. If you are fast enough, you should reach a wave with only one enemy - "disco ball". If you destroy it, you get 100k.

Your first priority should be getting 1000 combo in Level 1. Once you are able to do that, you should have no problem reaching this ball.

By the way, I recognize you from VC Reviews/WiiWare World, a really great site. I'm not registered there, but I read it all the time.

Awesome - I can clear both 2 and 5 minute modes. Same way - top speed all the way... I think I start better than you though LOL! My Top score is just a tad over 2 million in 5 minute mode... Great clearance. I like the way you go anti-clockwise at the first boss - I've always gone to the left... great idea... I used to clear the first bos ASAP - but now I go for points and blast it like you. I sometimes have trouble with the final boss... like your move to get it at the end. Need to play more

Nice run. I just hit the 2 Mill mark today. I'm 21st in Canada and 18th in Canada for the 2-Minute Mode.
