The OLD GUARD never forgets! My father fought at Jarama. They lost the battle but it was so fierce and bloodied that will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!

Dear sefardisfran.
I am a 22 years old spanish boy and three fathers of my grandparents died defendig the republic. That was an horrible war, brother against broter, but peopple like your parents have shown us, the young ones, what to fight for whit they awersome sacrifice. Thanks to them, and thanks to all the peopple who fought and died for the freedom and humanity.

I don't know anything about the author, but I'm thankful to him for his words, the honesty & bravery behind them, & the stirring we feel; that feeling that links us & our history to our present struggles. I'll be in Liverpool soon, for the annual meeting of the International Brigades Memorial Trust. & I'll be on the streets of London - or Cardiff , or wherever, when the scruffy new 'blackshirts' come to town.
