in this video clip you'll see the motorman demonstrating a different way to slip the clutch with a rythmic blip, blip, blip of his throttle. Some of the riders were having difficulty with their clutch/throttle technique, Jerry showed them another possible way.

  • I don't have a problem with slow riding, but I don't quite understand what's going on here. Is the clutch still in the friction zone? Is the blipping more about throttle control? PS: my electronic throttle does seem to desensitize at low speed & RPM. --Clyde

  • @bicyclefeathers What I was doing was offering a different way to some of my students that were having problems at my class with their clutch and throttle technique. The "blip, blip, blip" of my throttle while slipping my clutch in and out of the "friction zone" will control your motorcycle at slow speeds. Your Clutch/throttle technique is critical for any slow speed maneuver.

  • An interesting approach would never have thought about it like that .How many sets of floor boards do you go through on your bikes ? LOL !

  • @WatchToddPattison haven't had to replace any of the floorboards on our bikes...yet.

  • When you corner are you hitting the pegs on the ground? It kind of sounds like I hear scrapping ?

  • @TheTacticalBarrage that sound are the floorboards scraping...all it's telling me is that I've reached the limit of my lean angle.
