Peter Jackson's pictures, Ralph Bakshi's soundtrack from 1978, my cut. See it in HIGH QUALITY!!!
"The battle at Helm's deep - 'Just to get there'."
This part was an endless mater of priority. What should be in it, and what had to be cut out? There was only place and soundtrack-time for the most essential scenes in Jackson's film, no more. (Thank God, no essential place for Legolas shield-skating!)
If you wonder about the horse neighings, I can tell you that the orcs in my edition sometimes sound like horses... :-)
A peculiar detail in Bakshi's film is when Saruman by magic sends 'The fire of Isengard' over Helm's deep. In the book it's obvious that Tolkien means explosiv powder. But I liked to mix both versions from the two movies and show Saruman's witchcraft and the powder keg, as if he is coaching and controling the orcs by magic.

  • what do you prefer?

Aruman shooting the Fires of Isengard to help the orcs

or some ramdom orc BLOWING THE FUCKAUTTA of everything?

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa

I prefer sitting in my home, drinking tea, I think. But otherwise, the orc, though Tolkien wrote it that way. The firework-wizard makes me wonder, why didn't he firework the whole shit: the fellowship, the nazguls, Sauron etc etc??? Powerful skil...

  • This is awesome!!!!! I like the way you made the arrow firing and such sort of fit. Not many people can successfully do that.

  • @Fourhand1917 Thank you!

    Originaly I was at loss for words at how you managed to put the two together, still am so I will have to settle for an unoriginal;

    "Excellent Work".

I never realized how much I missed the orc chant at Isengard, the battle seems more "chaotic" and brutal and all that from swapping audio...

Plus there is no annoying elf skateboarding scene^^

Sure you were obviously hard pressed to find scenes suiting the dialogue but still the overall impression is one of an excellent job.

  • ok this comment is NOT about the elf (lol) I missed the part on the stairs that is in the animated, and the scenes from the animated are etched forever in my brain and I know them by sound, so for what its worth, you did a pretty good job, better than I would have, and that is saying a lot.. THe part when Aragorn and Theoden talk about attacking in the morning was done well thank you,and now for the final scene with Frodo Sam and Gollum in the animated version anyway..makes me wish for more :)Ty

  • @raimat66 maybe because that would be pretty stupid since in the Jackson film he does that kind of thing several times, while he only does once in the Bakshi film, and i believe he has really bad aiming, since in the Bakshi film showed like, 20 fireworks, and it blew a small hole on the fortress.

i dont know, but i still think the ''blasting fire'' is more consistent, while the fireworks looked pretty cool.

  • why would people ruinen it like this-_-

  • *chucking cows and ducks*

    "Run away! run awaaaaY!"

  • This cartoon soundtrack reminds me of Scooby Doo Soundtrack used in the cartoons

  • Holy shite. I'm gonna have to agree with LitD's post. Seriously, how much more badass would the Jackson version have been if the Uruk-Hai had chanted during the battle? This is some absolutely beautiful work.
