This is the single/edited version. It's tuned to open G and capoed up to C.

This is another song that I suspect Keith used a Nashville tuning on (using only the octave strings from a 12-string set). You can hear the highest string (D) ringing pretty clearly an octave above the standard D string.

  • @privettricker Have you ever played a Hummingbird ? :D

  • @wellergilardino9 Yes, I've owned two. Awesome guitars.

  • @privettricker Awh why aren't they part of the collection anymore? :(

  • @wellergilardino9 All things must pass.

  • @privettricker True true, what's better the Dove or the Hummingbird then?

  • @wellergilardino9 Very different tones -- Dove is maple, Hummingbird is mahogany. Both are great guitars, but I prefer the tone of maple. But that's just individual taste.

  • it's a keeper for future lesson!! can't even attempt right now!! SH

  • The single version and the album version are in open E capo 8th fret which is the C open. That is why you hear the really high E string ringing. That was it. He played it in open G from then on capo on 5 C. That is coming from an interview in Rolling Stone from 1971 were he talks about all the tunings and songs to that point. Great playing as always and I am not trying to be a smart ass. He played it in open E on the album. Never again. Could be Nashville tuning. Maybe double track?

  • i play this in open E :P

  • great song!!
