@CatpurrRobertaBobbi what is not understood is that what humans percieve as hurting ,does not. pachyderm thick skinned. plus the ankus is not sharp it's a blunt tip. what would break a humans arm really would only tickle them.

You would have stomped on them if it was you? The elephants would fight back but this treatment instills so much fear in them that they become immobilized from terror.
That's why they seem to comply so easily when performing or giving rides.They are psychologically broken by fear like all performing elephants.

For anyone disturbed by this video, please boycott circuses with animals -- and other entertainment venues like rodeos, bullfights, horse races, dog races etc, that routinely abuse and kill other living beings for human amusement.
