The bells started right on time, which is something that I did not expect. So I missed a note or two. Also, I thought that since I was a quarter of a mile away, there wouldn't be any car noise, but there was this unusually loud car in the vicinity.

The sound of the bells is good, nevertheless.

  • I'm just curious...do those bells project really well like most electronic bells?

Electronic bells generally have better projection than real bells. They don't sound as loud up close, but they project further because of how the sound is focused (the parabola-shaped speaker has the tip of the cone at the focus of the parabola, leading to maximum projection in the direction of the opening).

Anyway, too mathematical? I hope not.

  • I wasn't aware that electronic bells project better than real bells, but now that you mention it, I have noticed that the bells sound better from a distance than than do up close. :)

  • freakin beautiful

  • Thanks! :)

  • My oldest brother lives in Brentwood...And he lives like right down the block from this catholic church St.Lukes not that your able to see it but when the bells ring it soundsd nice...Thebells that ring near his house sound exactly the same as the one in this vid its absolutely beautiful it chimes west minister then rings how many times its supposed too depending on what hour it is...But where were the bells coming from in this vid?

  • Dear bagpiper,

It is the same in Arabic countries where the call to prayer is blasted out through the getto making everyone take notice; worse than downtown Paris even for chime-noise intrusion, the only consolation is that God loves a joyful noise, or so it is said.

    .

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • hell's bells!

This sounds fake like it might have been dubbed.

  • Oh, and the "unusually loud car" is quite the norm here in Britain. You'll find that young teenagers enjoy "souping" their cars up and fitting extra-large exhaust pipes on.

Still, hope you enjoyed your trip to our fair land.

  • Not as good as my home city - Nottingham! We have the deepest sounding bell in Britain. It can be heard for seven miles around.

  • The sound of the bells is good.
