  • DId I just see you grab a powered subwoofer and pick it up in a plastic bag with one hand? ha ha lol. Now that was awesome!!! Post a action vid please as I am just curious. Regards DJ Malarky out.

  • @djmalarky Yes you did! As said it only weighs 19KG (41 lbs), so it's fairly light. The bag is also quite thick, much much thicker than a garbage bag. I also lift weights a lot, so 19KG is peanuts for me, and beside that any young male should be able to lift that with one hand without problems. Thanks for your comment ;)

  • @rampagetv Sounds good, I'll let my eight year old lift it out if I get one. Can you DJ small parties with this sub? When I say small I mean 50-75 people. Or say a backyard gig night? I'm putting together a small set up for my son and this looks like the perfect affordable way to go. He's starting off doing smaller parties with my help of course but mostly on his own. He wants his own gear and when I saw your vid I thought that might be good. What are your thoughts?

  • @djmalarky Yes, I have DJ's a party of 65 with these, together with some custom build high performance compact (82*46cm) tops. They really are that good. This would be a nice subwoofer together with two (active) tops, but seriously killer in a setup with two subs and tops. Enough bass to play a nice reggae gig for say 25-30 people, with a LOT of bass. Since they're active, they're really easy to connect, and usually go between mixer and tops(-amp). I'd really recommend these.

  • Oh right I see. So the woffer is *8 ohm?

I'm asking as threes different companies quoting different specifications. Some quote 150 wrms and others 300wrms so I was clueless. Not forgetting all the different max and peak powers (which I believe to be identical measurements in real world terms?)

Yeh, please post a video of them in action. It would be appreciated :)

  • @MattLaneUK I generally believe the info that's on the box and manufacturers website more than anything. I have indeed seen some vendors selling it as a 150W for some reason. On the box it says "600 watts", which in the manual turns out to be it's peak power. I knew this before hand and even with that, it's a complete steal.

  • Geeft t goede bass? ik heb nu 2 skytec 200w speakers en die geven echt 0 bass dus ik zit te denken nog 2 van deze bassen te kopen maar alleen als ze echt goed diep bass geluid geven voor bijv Hardstyle

  • would you be able to do a demonstration video of this? i'm really interested in buying this to add some bass to my system. How would you compare the bass to a normal 15" speaker?

  • are that subwoofer a car sub or home sub

  • @JillBattleSlut i think skytec are turning a corner, i have 2 12 inch tops and when running with my sub i can cover 150 people, check my last gig log i used tem and one sub

  • @JillBattleSlut I completely agree with you on the topic "really good or really cheap". It's always best to have the best quality you can afford, be it secondhand. These speakers are an exception to Skytec, which is why I bought them. These are absolutely fantastic for the money, and even second hand I could not find a better deal. These aren't speakers for heavy use, but the wattage doesn't indicate that either. But again, higher quality is always better in my opinion.

  • @rampagetv Man thats just what I wanted to hear, I thank you for your input. This is going to work for us and our application. I cant wait to check out your next live vid review. Keep em' bumping my friend. DJ Malarky out.
