This video is a tribute to a great athlete.
It aims to show a sport not so well known and unfortunetly it's dark side.
All freedivers know the risks involved and are aware of their limit.
But the real shame is that those altletes training on a daily basis should deserve more.
As Loïck Leferme tragical death , most accidents happen because they miss founding to get some real money to practice their sport with proper equipment in a well secured environment.
In this case, the equipment created the accident. Once again...

When a soccer team travel in a jet, worldchampions freedivers have to train on small inflatable boats...
For those saying this sport should be banned, well that's most ridiculeous. Why not ban poluting dangereous car racing, etc.
On this video, we can salute the safety diver for his courageous attempt to rescue Audrey risquing his own life.
I hope showing this drama can contribute to a real recognition of this sport and who knows, getting sponsors and public to appreciate the sport as it should.

Thanks whippetlover1,etc for your comments, for the others misplaced comments, please just go play football(soccer) & try to hold your breath in your bath for at least a minute...May be you will start to understand..besides it 's not the only aspect, but those who ever tried to get in communion with oceans and seas over the world will get my point of view.

  • Oogdiver wrte everything : No air in the cylinder to inflate the lift bag to get back to the surface. No drill to move onto the deep support diver's gas and decompress. No staged ascent with the support divers. No plan to recover an unconscious person into the support boat. No CPR, no oxygen and no AED on the boat and, apparently, no medical personnel or even someone with basic CPR skills on the support boat at all.

  • The fact that the rescue diver was there, yet she still died, makes me want to cry...

  • I really could care less if she was a beutifull woman? she was a person period. Freediving is dangerous and those taking part often push themselves to the limit...on this occasion...the list of equipment failure and general lack of any organisation = a perfect storm...you may as well have shot her in the head as soon as the sled left the surface....shocking

  • My question is...Is there any record at all which is worth the death of such beatiful woman and beautiful person? For example...If I invent a crazy sport about how much concrete blocks I can put on my skull, someday I´ll pull that extra block which will crush my head and then...Will I be a Hero? Playing with our limits doesn´t seem a clever thing when you so clearly risk your life...

  • @XavierPadilla In the case of apnée, what's so glorious about deliberately bringing the organism as close to its death as possible? Were hunters hunting to live or to prove they were alive? You may keep practicing your silly game of death, until perhaps you loose a child in that activity; then you'll probably understand which are the really important human limits we should break as a species. Meanwhile, in a free society anyone is always free to express how infinite can be his/her stupidity.

  • @drox69 Your are talking about hunting, but I'm a retarded...? Any sport which implies a risk of death, or simply attempts against health, is in no way a sport, but a shameful example of stupidity. Don't forget that humans are champions at it. Boxing isn't either a sport. Is you who need to think about it: if sport has to come historically from danger, it is nothing but a masochist expression of regretting survivors who need to reproduce missed situations...

  • @XavierPadilla Your funny and a retarded!! Thats why its called sport because its a competition to reach the human limit and who can dive deeper on a single breath of air its been around since the beginning to hunt for food!! before any sport you can think about!! So whats your sport? Before you talk shit about something think about it first..maybe you were searching on "How to improve your breathing" cause your fat and out of shape and stumble on a : Free Diving" video!!

  • @LaoB909 You are correct. One of Pipin's former friends has written a book insinuating the marraige was on the rocks and he pretty much killed her.

  • You all think that this no-sport is something of importance, but it is the media effect on you what makes you believe so: you are being fooled by those who make their bucks on the risks an extreme idiocies other do, which is the best formule to sale air time to be trashed to the uneducated mases. Media is better off selling death, not live. And you are too well placed in that game, shamefully so.

  • The unconfortable truth is that this sport is NOT a real sport, it is instead a real stupid game of messing around with human limits and human essentials, like breathing, like air. I have no respect for champions of stupidity, a still less respect for thoses who tried to promote an activity that keeps killing people all over the world, on the basis of I don't know what silly excuses and false heroisms.

  • I want to know why her husband (who set up her dive) was never charged with a crime? He planned her dive but when she reached the bottom - the air bag meant to propel her back to the surface was empty. Why didn't he fill the air bag? He certainly caused her death, due to his negligence. This tragedy didn't have to happen. So sad.

  • @Brentsey what a troll. Nobody respond to this fool please. He is just trolling.
