Ahadith tell us that an army from Khorasan carrying black flags wil emerge at a time when there seems to b no hope for muslims, this army wil consist of the best muslims of the time n no one will b able to stop them and they wil reach Jeruselam n erect the flags there. WHILE another hadith tells us that ppl wil recognise Imam-e-Mahdi in MAKKAH while doing TAWAF of KABA but he wil run to Madina so tht ppl dont chase him but they wil stil do and ask him to take the leadership.
