Kim Bridges 1992: The London Elvis Wars

During the 1990's a bitter Elvis war broke out between two restaurants in Streatham, South London. The rivalry between Italian restaurants La Pergola and Il Carretto generated huge media coverage as well as a host of dirty tricks between the two owners. Both establishments had their own Elvis show-The Pergola had exclusive contract with Elvis Tribute Artist Kim Bridges while Il Carretto put on a succession of impersonators of wildly varying quality and eventually went out of business. Kim Bridges went on to rule Streatham for a further 10 years before taking his show on the road.
