Ethiopia, Rapperswil Help for Hope

The Ironman 70.3 in Rapperswil is an international race
and part of the worldwide Ironman series. The race is also
an official qualifying race for the Ironman 70.3 World
Championships in Las Vegas, in the fall of 2011.

A big thank you first of all to the athletes for putting in
«sweat money» for this grand project of a sports academy
for children in Ethiopia ...

The project
At the HIM Rapperswil 2011 we will race to build a new
school and the first track & field facility for orphans and
street children in Wolisso, Ethiopia. Wolisso is located at
100 km from Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia and is the
cradle of top Ethiopian runners. Yet for too many
children in Wolisso, the dream of a better future
remains...a dream. On June 5, we can change that!
Combining access to a school curriculum with sports
education will be at the heart of Help-for-Hope's
investment in Wolisso. Help-for-Hope has visited Wolisso
in April 2011, met the leaders of the two projects and
defined the concept.
