One of my favorite programs made in 1999. Thanks A&E!

  • Good list, but the ordering leaves something to be desired.

Here's a few people who should be on the list: Nikola Tesla, Alex de Tocqueville, William Randolph Hearst - just to name a few.

I have my doubts about Schwartzkopf as a good source, but oh well.

Also, people credit Edison as a genius, but most don't know he was a douchebag too. He stole ideas & plans from Nikola Tesla, then did all he could to bury him. Tesla's genius far outweighed Edison's, but Edison got all the credit. Sheesh.

  • who is this blabbering playwright lady they have speaking on this video? could they not find anyone more important than some playwright... its hard to respect her opinion considering i have no clue who she is.

  • @moviehombre

Now now... he didn't steal tesla's ideas... Tesla hated Direct current and pushed for Alternating Current... but Edison wasn't a mathematician so he had no idea what was going on... Tesla worked for Edison... then peaced out

Tesla, yes, should make the list... but Edison wasn't running around ripping off tesla.

  • @1973mazdarx4coupe Wow, take the Islamophobia and medical ignorance elsewhere, please.

  • @theinternetscholar Although the ancient world wouldn't be included in this list because it wasn't between 1000 and 2000. That's what makes that guy's comment so funny when he mentions "greek artists" (also part of the medieval period would also fall outside the millennium they're discussing here).

  • @moviehombre The whole idea of comparing the influence of people in such disparate fields as science, politics and the arts is just ridiculous. Still, Bio of the Millennium is fun in terms of getting people to think.

  • My thoughts and "grades" of each person in this part:

#13: His research led to a cure for rabies, as well as the basis for modern-day medicine. A+

#12: I think he was a freaking quack who emphasized sex way too much, but his ideas and teachings have pretty much shaped psychology. Still, he should be a LOT lower. A-

#11: THE Renaissance man. Da Vinci needs to be this high, if not in the top 10. A+

  • @1973mazdarx4coupe Jesus and Muhammad are ineligible for the list because they didn't live in this millennium--they died before the year 1000 AD.

  • Dudes, why wasnt Jesus in this? or even mohammed? I thinkn Jesus should get in coz he was a peace activist and mohammed because he raped kids and killed anyone who didnt join his cult....... i also find it disgusting my videos werent number 1. freud was a pervert, and a shrink, and shrinks are voodoo bullshitting witch doctors

  • And just how in the world is FREUD ahead of Edison?! You don't experience Freud's legacy when you turn on a light, and, as it is, Freud's ideas have been constantly challenged and undermined. He's as much a figure of a negative view of the world (and a cocaine addict) than anything else.

  • im guessing chris columbus #1
