Songs like this makes me realize how rich indian music is- more specifically south indian music.... wow- this is just a stupid film song and yet so rich in melody and composition..... I am a bengali who grew up in the US and still can't get over the beauty and the differences of all the different music from different parts of india.....is this yesudas..... my god this gye" o goria re;???? madhuban khusbu deta hey, ni sa ga ma pani sa re ga?? he is still going.... such a melodious voice

@MsVimarsha it's a representation of their feelings, I think: she sees love as freedom, but he sees himself as dragging her down (quicksand, etc.) but she keeps coming back and saving him or freeing him. He wants to leave to free her from the burden of caring for him as he's dying, and knows she wouldn't willingly give him up. But he doesn't know her secret yet.
This is how I interpret it, anyway.
