Amtrak P42DC 28 leads train # 28, the Empire Builder, Out of Portland

In a rare occurance where the leading locomotive is the same # as the train, amtrak "genesis" AMD 103 28 leads the Portland section of the empire builder on 7/2/09. Enjoy!

Huh I'm surprised to see one unit on the Empire Builder, because isn't The Texas Eagle the AMTRAK train that only uses one unit?

THis is just the portland section, thus only 1 unit and 4 cars. in Spokane, it becomes the full train.

Train 28 is just a segment of the train. As has been said, in Spokane the train meets with the REAL Empire Builder (train 8), the cars are coupled to the rear of the train, and the locomotive shifted to the point.
