X-Plorer's whammy sucks. I had same problem when I played with X-plorer. Les Paul and GHWT guitar had way better whammys.

Because I can't fully whammy everything, and I can't hit squeezes because of that and stuff. :P

But it's probably my stupid X-plorer anyway..

Thanks :) Why do you want to know how I whammy? Anyway I hold whammy bar between my middle finger and ring finger (when I play with GHWT guitar). To get maximal star power I start pressing whammy bar up and downexactly the same time as I strum sustain note. On very short sustains I just press it down.
