i was 11 years old, my dad made me go to bed because my mom was giving him a hard time about me waking up in the morning. he felt real bad so he gave me his first edition sony walkman so i could listen in bed.i was having a hard time following the play because i never listened to a game on the radio, but when he scored that goal my dad came flying up those steps got me out of bed told my mom to go to hell, and let me watch the rest of the game. i remember like it was yesturday.

i wasnt around to see this(born that year) but ive been a flyers fan ever since I was little and nothing compares to this. even primeau's goal against the lightning in game 6 of 2004 ECF. the only thing that comes close was when I was at the wac to watch game 7 against the bruins last year on the screen. thats when all the real fans showed up.

@RealtorBernie dude i know right. im a die hard flyers fan, my boys richards carter breire pronger leino bobrovsky bouche, and idc leighton helped us alot last year. and lavielett. (Sorry for miss spells) but i cant stand not going to games and having this ban wagoner in my school who goes to his first flyers game last year in the midst of the playoffs after the boston thing and he was cursing out canadiens fans. DA FUCK MAN.

@EastCoastDude99 there hasn't been a drop off in noise levels because it is alomst physically impossible to get much louder, i mean the record for loudest ever sports arena is around 120 so you can't say that it is shitty watching the games now adays in the new center. The place is not "a shopping mall", it is damn louder than the majority of the rinks for any other team. and by far louder than any college ball, NBA, MLB, or NFL game.

@EastCoastDude99 ......now I can personally attest that after going to psu games and knowing what 110 decibels sounds like I can confirm that there were def. moments louder in the F.U. center, times when it hurt just being there. I'm not talking about how they went crazy, or what people did. I am only talking about the sheer volume of noise that I heard, that is all. Now I am sure there were moments just as loud in the spectrum but I am saying that there hasn't been a drop-off in noise levels...

@EastCoastDude99 I know that there have been comparable moments for sure in the F.U. center. A number of goals against the pens in the playoffs recently and a couple playoff OT goals are def. comparable to the spectrum. I have been to Penn State games while they were doing a sound study and they released the readings and the peak moments were tipping around 110-125 Decibels and it hurt to be in our seats. cont.....

@naes101010......more people doesnt mean the building is louder. The Spectrum was half the size of the Center (Building wise) yet it held over 17,000 people. The sound didn't escape the Spectrum as it does the Center. Im not how many playoff games you attended in the Spectrum, but you're the only Flyer fan I know of who claim's the FU center was louder. It clearly was not. Between this video, Hextall's goal, and the ass kicking of the Red Army by the bullies, its not even comparible
Jayfunk,
The reason the fans arent that sick and crazy now is because professional sports have priced out the average fan for games and instead decided to sell overpriced seats to corporations who pass the tickets along to clients who really have little or no interest in the game itself.
