Great White Shark
Carcharodon carcharias
(Other names White Pointer, White Shark)
Considered to be one of the world's largest predators the Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is easily identified by its shear size, sharp black eyes and large saw-edged teeth. Its body colour is dark grey above, generally a lighter grey on the sides and distinctly white below. It displays a black spot at the rear of the pectoral fin base. Most Great Whites have numerous scars located over their bodies due to there abrupt behaviour. Usually seen singularly or in pairs, thought in feeding grounds may be found in small aggregations in coastal waters.

Diet: squid, sharks, birds, dolphins, porpoises, bony fishes, octopi, carrion, crabs, sharks, whales,rays, seals, turtles.
