  • Gun defenses are good, but the knife defenses ... c'mon. Seriously. Who the heck steps forward while thrusting a knife at a victim? And who actually just leaves their arm fully extended like that when they stab? Anyone seen how a criminal stabs a victim in real life? Up close, rapid little short strokes as they repeatedly poke their victim to death ... and it's usually from behind, unannounced, not in some Hollywood style face-off. Real fights are faster and WAY uglier than most people believe.

  • @darkwriter77 So do you have a better of teaching knife defenses?

  • @MrLeicamaster Well, our 5th kyu lesson has more knife training, they are in the 'BASICS OF NINJA TRAINING' black belt course (instant downloads.) And there are all kinds of other weapons lessons throughout the whole course, too. (Mostly we put up "review and basics" stuff on this channel. Go to our web site for others) If you want to see the course book with a list of all the stuff in the video download course you can send me a message with your email address and I will email it to you. -JD

  • @NinjaLearningNetwork I wasn't criticizing. I like the videos.

  • @MrLeicamaster Oh, no worries, we didn't think you were critical at all :-D Thanks for watching!

  • @darkwriter77 These are intended to be basic training videos that merely illustrate potential scenarios for students. Obviously, everything is slowed down and exaggerated on purpose so that students can examine the hypothetical situation and potential maneuvers. You are obviously correct that a real situation would not look like this of course.

  • I was born with fast reactions like in these situations and know how to reach to a gun or knife (Maybe i was a born ninja) xD

  • @darkwriter77 Those are great points and some of these scenarios could come in war zones, not always muggings.

  • @hypnosqurile I would never in a million years test it. I think these techniques are valuable to learn, but if someone is pointing anything more powerful than a pellet gun at me, they can have my wallet. If it was obvious they were planning on killing me, I'd probably run and hope I could get 20 or 30 feet on them before they got over the shock of it. Pistols are not very accurate and there aren't too many people who can shoot worth a damn beyond 15 feet.

  • @darkwriter77

Well, it could depend on your distance from them. And you are right, you might know the basics, but in a real mugging, you must be fast, you won't get another chance.
