Odyssey Farebox part 1

The new fareboxes that many bus drivers and passengers hate.

They don't take worn,wrinkled,or taped dollar bills. Coins need to be inserted at slot one at a time. On board purchased paper bus passes get folded and magnetic strip gets scratch.

I do like that passengers can see how much money they are putting in.

Many bus agencies are retiring their GFI Trim Unit standard fareboxes.

When a bus pass is purchased on board it says "Please Take Transfer". It says "Card not Valid" when bus pass is not validated,scratched, swipe wrong way, or expired.

I also heard them say Transfer not accepted, bill not accepted, and coin not accepted. I hope I hear that again so I can record it.

GFI Odyssey is crap. smartcard reader is the weakest and slowest i've ever seen

I hated this fareboxes with a passion. Its very picky...doesnt take wrinkled, worn, or torn dollar bills unless u press the feed button.
