Lighten up, Choad Todd! Is he really suggesting comics shouldn't tell jokes about politicians? If Republicans don't want to be ridiculed, they shouldn't make it so easy for their critics!

The Supreme Court deserves every bit of scorn ordinary Americans can muster for the Citizens United decision. Informed cynicism is always preferable to dumb reverence when it comes to corrupt government institutions.

So says the guy who interviewed Donald Trump as a serious candidate on more than one occasion...

That's mighty neighborly of you, Revan. From whereabouts do you hail? North, south, inland, coastal?

The American South gets a bad rap in the public perception. Not just here, but all around the world. I'm impressed that a "foreigner" like you managed to discover its unexpected charms. A lot of my own countrymen just write off the entire region as backward and embarrassing. You sound like a very intrepid and curious person. Have you done a lot of traveling in other places?

They're AMAZING cooks; need more women like that over here... not meaning to be sexist btw... but I learned in America a new appreciation for that quality in a woman I never thought of before (My mom was a lousy lazy cook as I grew up) They love the accent, I thought it was just a stereotype before I went there the first time.

As for a place to visit in England.... my house? ;P

Damn, you really are a connoisseur, Revanjames! Even though I'm a straight girl and a raging liberal, I understand your appreciation for southern women. They usually try to look extra-pretty and some of 'em ain't half-bad cooks. And they have such an entertaining approach to modern English! If were to visit your country, where would you recommend?

Oh totally, I way prefer the south overall... (I did tours when I came there) if only because of the women. :P Don't get me wrong, I like them in the north too, :D I know how friendly you are, Sweet jesus, I wouldn't need a hotel on any night if I just spoke to an American; even if I'd only meet them that day (I found that so weird at first). So hospitable. Love the people over there. (despise the government though... they smell of poo. :P

Hah, D.C. has the highest murder rate in the country! Weird, huh? Talk about a black market! You know, they say Washington, D.C. is just like Los Angeles except for all the ugly people, right?

I hope you don't allow your impressions of our capitol to cloud your opinion of Americans in general. We really are a very humble and friendly people. You probably won't get shot at all if you stick to Disneyland and Las Vegas!

No, I'm from the mother of America country... good ol' England. I've visited DC a few times, and watch a lot of american political shows.... but here's a demonstration on how different the DC culture is from elsewhere... observe people like Charles Krauthammer, Chris Wallace, Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddox, Chuck Todd etc report on matters... and contrast it with people like Bill Maher, Jon Stewart, Bill O'reilly, Sean Hannity commentate.

All true. However from Chuck's perspective; remember he lives in Washington; where everything is political... the people that are drawn their are drawn to the political atmosphere... where journalists, politicians, lawyers, councils on foreign relations, other councils, civil rights groups, lobbies, business etc people are all gathered... it creates an atmosphere and mood that takes itself very seriously... which is why it's so sad that they're such jokes.

    1. Chuckie is equating pointing out the danger of money in politics with marginalize Republicans.

    2. He sounds like a man who can't take criticism of how he does his job!

BE CRITICAL, CHUCK! DO YOUR JOB.... so Stephen and Jon don't have to!!!

When Chuck Todd admits his idolatry, he admits he's not a credible journalist working for his audience- he's a biased tool of the purchased government officials. He is a stenographer for the powerful, exactly as the "journalists" Colbert called out in his correspondent's dinner address. Chuck is not the friend of the voter or the citizen, he is a cog in the manipulation machine. Too bad Chuck likes his cushy position better than doing the right thing for the country and the citizens.
