  • @thestuvylives That's interesting. Not really much thought behind that statement though, is there? Feel free to explain why you think I'm wrong. Should be interesting.

  • @MrGrevy Mr Grevy, let me just say that are one complete idiot.

  • I'm not gonna argue about the outcome of WWII, that is not what I care about right now. I care about your lack of respect for a generation of Americans that not only changed, but saved the world. Without their actions, the world would be a hell of a lot different. What generation are you? I'm assuming X or Y? There's plenty wrong with EVERY generation. My grandfather fought and took a bullet in Normandy, he was an amazing man. You are generalizing the shit out of everything.

  • @EmberGunz93 No you are simply wrong. NO historian would agree that there could have been an absolute victory (no more American flag, their tanks/troops in our cities, etc) over the US. No country had the resources for that, it simply could not have happened. Consider the oceans in between us and the Axis powers, the size of the US, and you'll see it would not have happened. Politicians enact the will of the people. They were a horrible blight on humanity and only came in at the last minute.

  • @MrGrevy, you have absolutely no idea, there is a very real chance that either Germany or Japan could of conquered the United States. This was a DIFFERENT time. They were brought up "racist", they had fought a massive war, and now were being threatened by communists, its no wonder they were paranoid. Politicians gave us those wars... you are generalizing. No generation is perfect, but this one saved the god damn world, so show a little respect.

  • @EmberGunz93 Not true at all. The Germans would never have had a complete victory over the US. No one would be speaking German. You watch too much tv. I do hold it against them because they were obstacles to the change that needed to happen. They were perfect examples of close mindedness and paranoia. They gave us our national debt, the Vietnam War, McCarthy, the red scare, cold war,the Iraq wars, etc. Disgraceful people.

  • @MrGrevy, and without them... you'd be speaking German! No generation is without problems. They were brought up in a different time, you can't hold that against them. They grew up in the hardships of the depression, fought and won a World War, and then created modern America. So fuck you, that's all I gotta say! :D

  • @chronos624 So for example, allowing black people to sit at the same lunch counter and go to the same schools as whites is just smug political correctness?? You are sick.

  • @MrGrevy You're right. We should be broad minded and "tolerant", evaluating all of history through the smug and narrow lens of early Twenty-First Century political correctness.

  • @chronos624 Actually, it's sad you still buy into this myth. The "greatest generation" was nothing of the kind. Most of them were never in any kind of combat, they were racist, misogynist, backward in almost every imaginable way. Their views on people with mental illness and homosexuals were deplorable and cruel. Icing on the cake is that they gave us the Vietnam War. Shame on you for supporting these sickos.
