I'm sorry but I have to say that I think the string version sounds cooler. I love this song. But I guess I'm just used to hearing it on strings. I played this song at Allstate this year and I play cello. I think that the string version sounds better to me. But that's just me.

@endowell It actually sounds a bit like what was played in Shawshank Redemption.

@endowell i'm pretty sure it's not used in any films however it sounds parts of it (like the intro) sound very much like parts of the scores from films such as The Shawshank Redemption and other scores written by Thomas Newman. Hope this helps! :)

I love this piece. I really do, but this recording just doesn't do it justice. The brass especially out of tune in some parts.

Eric Whitacre has to be the best modern composer ever. I have to say that some of his songs are the BEST yet. =D

i dont like the string version as much. the symphonic band piece is so much deeper
