@271byron <<...... and even more pronouncing a yoghurt according to his theories!
To conclude I quote from the same wikipedia article you provided: "Το γεγονός ότι η επιστημονική κοινότητα αποδέχεται τη συνεισφορά τού Εράσμου στον προσδιορισμό τής προφοράς τής Αρχαίας Ελληνικής δεν σημαίνει ότι η ερασμική προφορά είναι απολύτως ακριβής. Όπως συμβαίνει με κάθε σύστημα αποκαταστάσεως, περιέχει συμβάσεις οι οποίες δεν αντιστοιχούν πάντοτε στην εικαζόμενη αρχαία προφορά."
Ο νοών νοείτω…

I'll just refer you wikipedia: "προφορά της κλασσικής αρχαίας ελληνικής γλώσσας"
It's a shame they don't teach that stuff in greek schools.
-
Yes, being greek in Greece you were taught that ancient greek was pronounced just like modern greek. We all were. But there's always a chance to educate ourselves. Start with wikipedia "προφορά της κλασσικής αρχαίας ελληνικής γλώσσας"

@AntiSocialChannel85 Not Oikos brand. I find it disgusting. Will NEVER eat it again. It has a texture like wet, mashed potatoes, and absolutely NO TASTE at all! Yechh! There are SO many other good companies.

@271byron I suggest that you go back to class and retake Ancient Greek.....If you want to say "o ekos", which means "the house", then you can say o ikos, but thats two words. As I said, the letters oi in Greek are pronounced ee. I have written to the company and they acknowleged the fact that it is not the correct way to pronounce it, but for the American consumer, they had to pronounce it oh-ee.
