yes it is in aspartame. No it is not harmful. It is an ESSENTIAL amino acid. That means you die if you dont eat it. Your body cannot produce it alone. The other Amino acid in aspartame is aspartic acid. Aspartame is a phenylalanine/aspartic acid dipeptide.
