A refreshing lack of exaggeration on the rubato gives this interpretation immediacy and directness, in which the cantabile and the structural unity of the work are never lost.

I love Andsnes' Grieg, but this performance is lacking in passion. I became bored with it about three minutes into it. Compare this to Martha Argerich's interpretation and see what I mean.

Both of them are exeptional pianists,each in their own un ique way.You dont need to like Andsnes but:" nowhere as good",puts him down as a dilletant compared to Luganski.You are out of line as much as a lot of other critics on the youtube forums.

@ossiacadenza1 I was going to go to that concert! Ive seen him play it in los angeles, Birmingham, amsterdam and london. He's the best Rach 3 interpreter out there today.

Tak for den gode ide med rødvinen. Det skal prøves lidt senere på året. Ja, Leif Ove Andsnes spiller dette svære stykke helt fremragende sammen med Sveriges Radios Symfoniorkester som betegnes som et af verdens bedste.
